Wide range of application of corrosion and heat resistance MA600 is a nickel-chrome-ferric alloy that has excellent resistance to all corrosive substances. This is a highly reliable alloy because it does not develop chloride corrosion cracking that appears in stainless steel. Nickel is added to this alloy to strengthen resistance to wide range of acids, alkalies, organic and inorganic material. The addition of chrome improves resistance to sulfides in corrosive environment and to oxidizing acids.
Furthermore, the oxidation film generated in high temperatures is stable, and it keeps its resistance even at high temperatures in which heating and cooling processes are repeated. The alloy has high resistance to nitriding, and is used for industrial furnace material, etc.
Water treatment devices, food industry equipments, milk treatment, magnesium chloride evaporators or corrugated steam tubes inside open condensers, plug-in heaters, nitrosyl chloride and chlorine separation tower, photo material production and film processing equipments, textile industry that uses chromate and permanganate, leather industry, fermenter of penicillin and streptomycin, tall oil recovery equipment for the craft paper pulp industry, light water reactor heat exchanger, exhaust systems of aircrafts, heating device, nitriding furnace and heat treatment furnace parts, etc.
Various shapes, such as flat-rolled plates, forgings, welding wire, wire, welded pipes and tubes, seamless pipes and tubes can be manufactured.

MA 600 can be easily welded by either arc welding or inert gas welding. However, to prevent pitting or cracking, use of excessive electric current must be avoided. In addition, in case of arc welding, adequate cleaning is important after welding to achieve sufficient corrosion resistance. The following table shows welding methods and points to note concerning the material used.
Method | Standard thickness | Welding rod and solder | Points to note |
---|---|---|---|
Arc welding | 1.27mm or thicker | Inconel 132 Arc rod | Cleaning is important |
Inert gas metal arc welding | 3.2mm or thinner | Inconel Filler metal 62,82 | Shorten arc length |
Oxy-acetylene | 3.2mm or thinner | Inconel Filler metal 62 and Incoflux 4 | Use weak reduction flame |
Silver solder | Various non-phosphorus containing silver brazing filler metal and appropriate flux | Use only where corrosion doesn`t occur. Also avoid excessive heating and high stress during the works | |
Soft solder | Various soft brazing filler metal and acid flux | Use only where corrosion doesn`t occur and where no strength is applied | |
Resistance welding spot seam projection flash | 3.2mm or thinner 1.27mm or thicker |
